Lighting Tech Tip: NLC Benefits & Incentives

May 20, 2019 | Trade Ally Network NW

If you attended a Network workshop this season, you know that networked lighting controls (NLC) are a hot topic. The U.S. Department of Energy predicts that, “by 2035, more than a third of installed luminaires in commercial buildings are estimated to have network connectivity.”

Not only are control systems easier to install than ever before, they bring significant energy and financial benefits to your customer. NLCs are a major focus of utility incentive programs because of their ability to deliver energy savings and significant non-energy benefits. BPA offers incentives that range from $40 to $100 per fixture with NLC, depending on the wattage controlled and the wattage reduction. Contact your local utility first about incentives, as utility participation and incentives may vary.

If you’re not familiar with NLC systems, now is the time to learn more and make sure your customer gets the best possible incentives.

Contact your regional field specialist to help you evaluate whether an NLC is right for your next lighting project.
